Problem: Every time I hit a bump the “Release Parkingbrake” message appeared in the check control display.
Fixing it: Remove the rear part of the center console. This is documented in the dashboard removal procedure.
Turn the plastic screw on the handbrake cover to move the cover out of the way.
You will find a switch which controls the handbrake message.
In my case the switch was free to move around.
Tightening the screw that holds it to the handbrake assembly fixed it.
